Importance in Public Health
Plastic Surgery plays a vital role in restoring form and function in patients affected by trauma, congenital defects, cancer, and burns. These procedures not only improve physical capabilities but also significantly enhance psychological well-being, self-confidence, and social integration. Reconstructive surgeries reduce disability, improve quality of life, and enable patients to return to daily activities. In regions with high incidences of burns, road accidents, or birth deformities, plastic surgery services are essential. Additionally, cosmetic procedures, when performed ethically and safely, contribute to mental health and personal satisfaction. Thus, plastic surgery is a critical element in the holistic care and rehabilitation of patients, deeply impacting public health and quality of life.
